JRC's second generation JAN-2000 integrates a new, more powerful processor, designed to deliver JRC's high performance standards while still keeping the ECDIS an economical choice. The multi-functional ECDIS system does not only meet IMO requirements, but is one of the world's most advanced and future proof, e-charting solutions available today.
New processor with amazing feedback
JAN-2000 now comes with the same processor found in JRC's larger models JAN-701B/JAN-901B. Feedback from captains, factory testing and benchmarks shows that the new processor has improved dramatically when it comes to speed. Especially remarkable is the operational performance running smooth when changing range scale or chart area. Chart import time is now 7.4 x faster and chart drawing time up to 10.8 x faster.
A secure and economic choice
The new JAN-2000 has tripled its number of serial ports to 9, taking standard interfacing to a new level. The fully type approved ECDIS is the ideal cost-effective solution for mid-small size ships and workboats but is also considered an economical back-up facility to JAN-701B or JAN-901B or JAN-2000 ECDIS models.
Built in UPS for safety shutdown
The JAN-2000 has a small Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) built in as standard, holding up to 60 seconds until OS closes automatically.

Regulations
The IMO amendments to the international convention for SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) makes it compulsory to fit an ECDIS. The legislation will be phased by vessel type and size and will eventually apply to almost all large merchant and passenger ships. Use below timetable to determine which of your vessel(s) will be affected and when:
