Akademik Mstislav Keldysh

The Akademik Mstislav Keldysh is a scientific research vessel owned and operated by the Shirshov's Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is the world's only ship supporting Mir1 and Mir2 submersibles. 

It is equipped with all modern equipment and navigational instruments, which allows it to collect and process data about the atmosphere, aquatic and benthic soil.

The "Akademik Mstislav Keldysh" became known worldwide after filming the movie Titanic and is referred to as "The Love Boat" by the crew and scientists.

Novikontas delivered a JRC Solid State Radar in cooperation with NAVTEAM for the retrofit - a new generation of marine radar, utilizing advanced signal processing technology to display targets with high accuracy while using a stabilized high-power solid state transceiver.

The vessel is using its navigational equipment to explore the North Pole.
