Akademik Ioffe
The Russian-flagged research vessel Akademik Ioffe is designed and built in Finland for polar research. Over the last years it has also been operating as an Antarctic expedition-style Polar cruise vessel offering up to 118 passengers a unique Antarctica travel experience.
The well-equipped Antarctic vessel has an ice-strengthened hull with bow and stern thrusters and cruises at 14.5 knots in open water, making it state-of-the-art for stability and speed for Antarctica travel and expeditions.

Novikontas delivered a JRC Solid State Radar in cooperation with NAVTEAM for the retrofit - a new generation of marine radar, utilizing advanced signal processing technology to display targets with high accuracy while using a stabilized high-power solid state transceiver.
The vessel is using its navigational equipment to explore Antarctica.
